I just love these lyrics from Going to California. Can I please go back in time and be that girl Robert Plant is talking about? Haha! What about you hippies, have you found your girl with love in her eyes? Are you someone’s special flowers-in-her-hair gal?
This is often the best option, do what you feel!
Quote from The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test, 1968. Ken Kesey is an American writer, most famous for his novel One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest and as a cultural icon whom some consider a link between the Beat Generation of the 1950s and the hippies of the 1960s.
Let your inner child play!
Hippie (n) One who embraces life to the fullest. Promotes peace, love and happiness. The world needs more hippies!
Jack Kerouac, born Jean-Louis Kérouac, was an American novelist and poet of French-Canadian descent. He is considered a literary iconoclast and, alongside with William S. Burroughs and Allen Ginsberg, a pioneer of the Beat Generation.
Any of you lovely hippies living in a big city? Do you find it hard to be far away from nature? I know I do. I miss the pines so much! I think spending time in nature is indeed a necessity of the human spirit.
Because we live in a world of competition and performance, here’s a friendly reminder 🙂
I recently made huge changes in many areas of my life. It’s hard, but I think the key is to be patient with yourself at first. Often when these situations come up, it’s because something happened and we’re kind of destroyed. We have to take the time necessary to rest and rebuild ourselves, even if it feels like we’re doing nothing and going nowhere. Then slowly we can start making plans start again, and start seeing this as an opportunity to re-evaluate where we really want to go. Have you ever had to start your whole life over?
This quote brings all sorts of questions to mind. What would you need to let go, to gain what is worth having?
What can you do to follow your bliss today?
So true, I have nothing to add to that.
We hear a lot about love and romance, but let’s not forget about the immense value of friendship.
Indeed, we’ve all imagined a dream life. Then why aren’t we just living it? What keeps us from doing all the wonderful things we’ve dreamed of? If we take a moment to think about it, we might discover that it’s not much. We might realize that it could be easier than we think. All we have to do right now is take one tiny baby step in the direction of our dreams. Then another 🙂
Sometimes when you read lyrics or place them on a certain image, the message hits you, even if you’ve heard the song a thousand times. So simple, and so true. I’m thinking of making this one into a poster for my home, to remind me how important it is to connect with nature. Anyone else interested in having this on their wall?
This is an interesting point of you, especially in periods of your life when you feel like you don’t really know what you’re looking for in this “self” research. Create!
